Traveling & Our World

The more you travel, the more you appreciate the beauty of the world. The more you travel, the more you realize the harms of plastic.
We've tried to live a more low waste, natural, lifestyle for years & years, we've had some months that we're great & others that we're not so great. Kids bring on a whole new level of waste. It's hard to be low waste in 2020. No matter how much we as a society claim to want to do better for our earth, we still live in a world of pinterest birthday parties & instagram playrooms. It is hard to justify why you shouldn't buy balloons (& half of party expert) for your kids birthday party.
This winter, we travelled to Crystal River, a spring where manatee's gather when the gulf gets too cold. It was beautiful, we snorkeled with these beautiful, ginormous mammals that were once endangered. One of the greatest threats to these mammals is eating plastic. All over the world, beaches are covered in plastic waste.
We need to teach our children to appreciate the world & to respect it, & that partly means to buy less stuff.
