Why we travel with kids...

It's rough & tough, but we wouldn't change it for the world.

As I write this, we're home, I'm sitting between a sick preschooler & a cranky toddler in bed watching movies. This somewhat resembles our life, finding any minute, to get things done, working from the office, to home, to the other end of the world & thinking back at our past trips.
From the beginning of our relationship, me & Billy travelled together. Our first trip together, I wasn't even 18 yet & needed a letter from my dad to be allowed to travel out of the country. It made us independent & fearless. The first time I jumped off a boat in the middle of the ocean to snorkle, I was like 20 years old, & immediately fell in love with the ocean.
We had a strong desire to show our kids the world, & after multiple trips close to home to the opposite side of this planet, we have seen our kids grow into strong little humans while travelling. Travelling lights a spark in me, a spark to do better, to be better, that I hope our kids will inherit. Through travelling we have gathered the most unbelievable stories & memories, together as a family.
Our kids are fearless, & resilient, Mia jumped in the middle of the ocean to jump with sharks, real, big, apex predators, in their own territory. She learned that sharks are nice, #apexpredatornotmonster. She learned that most animals, no matter how big or small, don't want to hurt us, they are just scared of us. She also has a crazy story to tell during ocean month at school.
Anastasia always had a fear of water. She doesn't enjoy water, at all even. But she faces that fear, she gets on the boat, she might be scared but she faces that fear, she doesn't let it stop her when she's saying hello to sharks from the boat.
If I could convince just one of you's, to book that trip & make those memories with your little kiddos, Then I'll be happy.
My kids are 2 & 4 years old as I'm writing this is 2020, & they've taken a subway in Beijing, taken a sled down the great wall of China, volunteered & slept in an elephant sanctuary #elephantnaturepark, taken dozens of planes, jumped waves, swam in the ocean, hiked cliffs, experienced the beauty, mystery, & fascination of geyser's, they've played tag on the land where my grandfather was born in Italy, they saw, & learned where our food comes from while staying on farms abroad & walking through rice fields, they've seen first hand the damage that humans have done to our beautiful earth, they've experienced us, they're own parents face our fears, & work crazy hard to make our wildest dreams reality.
What better way to learn about the world, then to experience it, #worldschooling .
They've slept anywhere, in different time zones, from a plane to an airport to a ferry floor, a carier or our arms, to a train or car, & they've adapted so well. They actually adapt better abroad than in the strict daily routine at home.
They've skied, free dived, snorkled, jumped off boats, skated, went horse back riding, kayaked & hiked.
They've spent weeks with the only toys they had we're a container of play doh, a mini doll, a pen & paper.
They're growing up young, wild, free & happy.
